Depression
A Depressive Disorder is an illness that involves the body, mood and thoughts. It affects the way a person eats and sleeps, as well as the way one feels about oneself. If you are suffering from a persistent sad, anxious, or empty mood; feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness, helplessness; decreased energy, changes in appetite, poor concentration, early morning waking, and loss of interest in pleasurable things, then you might be suffering from depression.

Children & Teens
Children and teens have special problems that require special care and understanding. Some disorders, like depression, can present much differently in a child than for an adult. ADHD (attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder), childhood depression, and oppositional behaviors require intervention from a professional that not only has significant experience in identifying these problems, but enjoys working with these very young individuals that often cannot verbalize their pain. I work very closely with the child, his or her doctor, and the family as a team, helping get the child backs on track as quickly as possible. An estimated 2 million children are diagnosed with ADHD alone, and early intervention is critical.
